Well…it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Just been being really lazy lately. I’m currently looking at some for a change of pace and realized I could do this update here.
So, a few weeks ago a friend took me up to Ayutthaya to check it out since I’ve never gone before. I had a pretty good time I guess. All we really did was go around a a few different temples and I took a few pics. Most of the day was just spent walking around, but my friend did have a surprise lined up for me. That will be for another post though.
Here are just a few of the pics I took. I have a lot more, but these should suffice.

One of the many “leaning” Buddhas in Thailand
Chao Phraya River…and a finger

Really big temple
So I was told that these next two shots were actually the setting for that one scene in “Kickboxer” (JKVD) where he was training and could hear the armies battling. If it really is the place…that’d be pretty cool. Such a great movie 😀
After visiting a lot of temples we went to see where my friend and his wife lived before they were married (they met in Ayutthaya). They ended up finding one of their neighbors who still lived there. He said most people left because the river flooded. It was right on the bank of the Chao Phraya. They said that everybody left because the cobras started to become a big problem. His friend is an artist and I guess never had the money to leave.
The artist’s house still showed signs of flood damage after over 10 years. He did a lot of statues in wax and was working on one when we showed up. It was obvious that he was very poor and I can only imagine how difficult it must be to be a starving artist (literally) in Thailand.
